About the book
This colorful book contains poetic texts of different types (poems, prose, white poems) about mantle, dead ends and flying fish, harbors, storms and diverships behind pearls. The text is decorated with magnificent drawings of marine life in the waters of the Arctic and Antarctic, tropical islands, fragments of ancient ships and coral reefs. The sea inhabitants, familiar and unfamiliar to a wide range of readers, habits and customs of the peoples living near the sea are also described.
The sea is the acting face of the book. Poetic texts, accurate from a scientific point of view, are very beautiful and lyrical. The author also affects the problem of ecology and irrational use of natural resources.
It feels that a man in love with the sea wrote a book. Poems alternate with prose and convey the admiration of the author before the sea elements, inhabitants, and all the gifts of the sea.
For whom this book
For children from 3 years old.
For everyone who is sincerely in love with the sea.
About the authors
Nicola Davis is a writer, holder of awards and author of many books for children, including the first book of nature "," promise "," baby "," many "and" big blue whale ". The zoologist by education, she worked in the BBC natural history department. According to Nikola herself, she always adored the sea: "When I was a child, in the evening I had to persuade me to go ashore after a whole day of bathing in the waves, and when I became an adult, I disappeared into the sea for weeks, studying whales. Only after completing work on this book, I finally learned to dive with scuba gear, so now I have a new opportunity to explore the blue sea thickness. Once on the sea, I always live a moment - and at the same time I indulge in the most wonderful dreams.
Emily Satton - illustrator. I received professional education at the Edinburgh College of Arts. In addition to illustrating books - including such as "baby", "many" and "Christmas spruce" - she draws, writes with oil and invents prints. According to Emily, work on a beautiful book about the sea has become a difficult, exciting and incredibly joyful process for her: "both the sea and the coast are so extremely diverse that they can be considered a real treasure of images, where many discoveries are waiting for the artist. I enjoyed great pleasure, drawing marine creatures and people whose life is connected with the sea (and also got the opportunity to use all the shades of blue!) ".
