The book included the chosen poems of Elena Schwartz (1948–2010), one of the best poets of the Leningrad underground of the 1970s and 1980s. The meaning of her work is expressed by aphorism: "Freedom is fearlessness." The combination of literary refinement and directness of statements in the "time of deafness" and there is the highest measure of fearlessness, which gives the person and poet genuine freedom
