The poet, writer Peter Shmakov was born in 1950 in Kharkov. He graduated from the Kharkov Medical Institute. Worked as a doctor. In 1995 he emigrated to the USA. Lives in the suburbs of Chicago. He began serious poetry classes relatively late. The author comes to the reader with a result of almost a quarter of centuries -old literary activities. The tonality of the poet’s poems is often tragic, and this tragedy is an attempt to harden and aggravate spiritual vision, to make him uncompromising.
