70s, Czechoslovakia, provincial city. After the commissioning of the USSR troops into Czechoslovakia, hopes are crushed for free life. Including the hopes of the parents of eight -year -old Helena Sochakova. Although Helena herself has no special hopes: she is fat, thoughtful and constantly laugh at her in the classroom, because her surname is not the same as that of her mother, and not the same as dad’s. True, she has a favorite younger brother, a beautiful mother-actress, and she also sculpts clay perfectly, so Helen does not lose heart. Helena has to grow up against the backdrop of sad events in the country. This story is full of bitter irony, and yet hope shines in it, because Helena herself will soon understand the power of the personal freedom of each person.
