Krylov’s fables.
For centuries, they are divided into quotes and aphorisms, many phrases of them have become proverbs and sayings - “a stigma in a fluff”, “and Vaska listens, but eats”, “and the casket simply opened”. We have long been pronouncing the “Elephant and Moska”, “Trishkin Kactan” or “Demyanov’s ear”, without even thinking about the literary primary source of these winged expressions - and all of them were born thanks to the remarkable wit of Krylov - the greatest of the Russian fabulists
