The new book of Alexander Kushner included poems written in 2018-2020. In an interview, the poet said that he loves to repeat the Chekhov phrase: "salvation in multi -painting". He writes a lot, and in each of his books the reader is waiting for poems that can surprise, please and inspire a love of life, despite its gloomy sides. “I had verses at hand / and wine, and water, and a mountain with clouds ...” - in these and many other lines, the reader will undoubtedly find confirmation of this property of A. Kushner"s poems, a property without which no real poetry is unprotected. According to Joseph Brodsky - "Poetry is the existence of the soul, looking for a way out in the language, and Alexander Kushner is the case when the soul gains a way out.
