Canadian writer E. Seton-Tompson was one of the first to truthfully describe the world and habits of animals. For him, a wild bear, and an elusive lone wolf, and even a stubborn puppy Chink, who considered himself an adult formidable dog, was of great interest.
The story of the pigeon Arno seemed no less amazing to the writer. Not so long ago, pigeons were in postal and even military service. Arno was considered the best of such pigeons, he easily won all competitions and with a brilliance withstood the final exam in a special pigeon school. With a message on the paw, he unmistakably raced to the goal, and many people owed him their salvation. But once there was a man who decided that Arno would only serve him.
Illustrations for this book were created by Vadim Alekseevich Gorbatov - one of the best Russian animal artists. In search of inspiration, he traveled from the polar tundra of Siberia and Alaska to the jungle of Cambodia and Ecuador. His works are included in the almanacs "300 years of animalism" and "Modern animalism" published in the UK. In creativity, the artist considers it important to show the beast or bird in the landscape so that the viewer feels that they are not drawn, but are an integral part of the picture. His work on canvas and paper is an opportunity to capture the admiration of that divine pristine harmony called wildlife.
For senior preschool and primary school age
