Ivan Andreevich Krylov went down in the history of literature primarily as the greatest fabulist. Its short, instructive, ironic fables have been known from childhood and re -read it with pleasure. Timely quotes of them have long become winged expressions, and Krylov’s characters fell in love with many generations of readers. “Of course, not a single Frenchman dares to put anyone higher than Lafontaine, but we, it seems, can prefer Krylov to him.
