The country in 1864 invented by the British mathematician Lewis Carroll in 1864, in which one inquisitive girl named Alice fell, awakens the imagination of more than one generation of children and their parents. For a hundred and fifty years of existence, this fairy tale has become a window into the world of fantasies, bizarre images and mysteries for millions of children. Having survived many publications, Alice"s history gave rise to a large number of transfers and transfers. This publication is distinguished by the presence of two Russian -speaking versions of the fairy tale. We reproduced the text of the first Russian arrangement - “Sonya in the Kingdom of Diva”, published in 1879, and one of the translations close to the text of the author himself, made by A.N. Rozhdestvenskaya in 1908. Read, and you will be surprised how different the world of the first Russian arrangement from the world of Carroll is translated in 1908. Wanting to share their vision of this marvelous story and its eccentric characters, many artists took up the creation of illustrations for a fairy tale. We tried to convey in our own way the outlandish atmosphere created by artists of different years, and placed the illustration of some of them in the publication. Along with the canonical illustrations of John Tenniel (1865) in this publication, you can see the stunning visual interpretations of Arthur Rekham (1907), Charlie Robinson (1907), A.E. Jackson (1914 - 1915), Peter Newella (1901) and Guinedda Hudson (1932) And also to get acquainted with the facsimile of the first notebook of a fairy tale in English, which was written by hand and illustrated by Lewis Carroll himself in 1864 as a gift to the girl, with whom the author wrote off the image of Alice
