The story of a wooden boy Pinocchio has not lost its popularity for more than a hundred years not only among readers, but also among artists. Illustrations for this publication were created by Massimiliano Fretzato - one of the best modern Italian artists. As a child, he dreamed of learning to draw so beautifully that the drawings were struck by himself. Today, the series of works of the Fretzato, the most famous of which are Mazer"s Keepers, are popular in many countries of the world. "Adventures of Pinocchio" can be called crystallization of the artist’s dreams. The contradictory combination of different styles, painting and graphics not only amazes the imagination, but also gives the book the very impudent, mischievous character, which is distinguished by its main character. Frezato admits that, working on illustrations, he felt himself at the same time both the father of Pinocchio and Pinocchio himself. After forgiving the wooden breakdown all the leprosy and pranks for his extraordinary vitality, the artist put so much positive energy in the illustration, filled them with such inspiration that he became literally co -author of Carlo Collodi.
