Being a magid is very difficult. Of course, you have in bulk of all magical abilities and you know a lot of things - including the so -called terrible secrets. But in the world entrusted to you, anything can happen, and then you can’t do the trouble. Rupert Veneblez is the younger magid of the Earth, and traditionally knows affairs in the Coriphos empire. Rupert’s business trips to the Empire are the most unloved - you never know that the local authorities will be thrown away. And now: the emperor first executed his eldest son, and then he himself died during a mysterious explosion in the palace. Now the Magid has to find the heir - that is still a task: after all, all the many children of the emperor are hidden in the unknown where they do not know about their origin. In addition, as luck would have it, a responsible mission falls on Rupert: to choose from the list of candidates of the new magid. Poor Rupert breaks between the earth and the empire, only vaguely guessing that all this confusion is part of the predestination. Perhaps the murderers of the emperor, and his heirs and candidates for magite are somehow connected. Their roads lead to an amazing place called Babylon. But for the time being, this is a terrible secret ...
