Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva is one of the brightest and most dramatic figures of the twentieth century. The great poetess of the Silver Age, it did not belong to any literary direction of that time and was not similar to anyone. Her original innovative verse drew inspiration from Russian folk poetry and from all world culture.
