Dmitry Andreevich Furmanov lived a short but bright life. In 1914, yesterday"s student of the Faculty of Philology of Moscow University went to the front as a brother of mercy. With enthusiasm, having met the February Revolution of 1917, he did not immediately switched to the side of the Bolsheviks. In the summer of 1918, he joined the ranks of the RCP (b), believing in the communist idea, and from that time he served her until the end of his days. The impressions of the events of the revolution and the civil war were reflected in its prose. In 1922, the novel “Chapaev” was written - one of the most significant works of the Soviet era. The image of Vasily Chapaev created by the author - the legendary commander and a talented commander - became a symbol of the victories of the Red Army for many years
