"Sovdetsvo. Uznik pyatogo volnoreza" is a continuation of the cycle of 'reminiscent' prose by the well-known Russian writer Yuri Polyakov about his Soviet past. In the pages of the book, we once again meet our old acquaintance, Moscow schoolboy Yura Polyakov. In the summer of 1969, he is vacationing 'wild' with his relatives in the Abkhazian town of Novy Afon. The teenager is looking forward to the sun, sea, mountains, exciting underwater hunting, as well as a serious, very dangerous test of skill and courage, devised by his local friends. However, as he prepares for the 'challenge' in the underwater labyrinth of the fifth breakwater, the hero does not even suspect what a harsh moral exam fate has in store for him. He cannot even imagine how his acquaintance on the train with the charming girl Zoe, with a 'pageboy' haircut like the famous Mireille Mathieu, will end for him...
