The unique part of the creative heritage of Nikolai Stepanovich Gumilov, a brilliant representative of the poetry of the Silver Age, is his prosaic works, including the famous banknotes of a cavalryist, talking about the 1914-1915 military campaign. At the beginning of the First World War, only two Russian poet of that time - Nikolai Gumilev and Benedict Livshits - signed up by volunteers in the existing army. For courage, manifested in battles, Gumilev was twice awarded the St. George Cross and was produced in non-commissioned officers. The publication also includes diary records that the author led during his trip in Africa. Prose Gumileva is a true sample of literary skill, imprinted his ironic and refined view of the world. For the first time, the stories, Novels and Essays Gumilev were published in 1922 after his death.
