For the first time, readers are given the opportunity to become acquainted with the piano score of the ballet "Cavalry Halt." Premiered in 1896 at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre, this performance is now part of the repertoire of many theaters. However, the version known to the public today is a shortened one created by P.A. Gusev in 1968. Now, the full version of the music by I.I. Armsheimer (1860–1933) in a piano arrangement by the composer himself is becoming available. This edition will be useful for ballet practitioners (dancers, ballet masters, and educators), as well as for ballet theorists (ballet historians, theater scholars, musicologists, and cultural experts), and all lovers of musical theater.
