The monograph for the first time in Russian literature examines a new object of intellectual rights - a multimedia product, which includes such integral phenomena of modern culture as computer games, Internet sites, virtual museums, libraries, etc.
Based on the analysis of foreign judicial practice and doctrine, the author formulates the concept of the legal regime of these objects according to Russian law.
In the work, a multimedia product is considered as a work of contemporary art, its features are identified and the definition of concepts is proposed, varieties of this object are analyzed and a distinction with other protected results of intellectual activity is carried out.
The author proposes to determine the rights to a multimedia product as part of a two -level model and at the same time identifies subjects that may have these rights on various grounds. Particular attention is paid to the issues of ordering the rights to the object under study and their protection.
The publication was prepared according to the state of the legislation for September 2012
