Kanaletto is a leading representative of the Venetian panoramic, landscape, more often urban painting - unlit. Born in the family of theatrical artist, was a student and an assistant father, participated in the design of performances in Venice, and then in Rome. In the eternal city carried away the sketches of urban landscapes from nature, much attention was paid to the image of Roman ruins. The first Venetian unlit Cantelto appear immediately after his return to the native city. From early works written by wide, pasty strokes, a young artist gradually moves to a different execution of landscapes: they carry clear straight lines of buildings, made small smears of transparent paints of clean colors, are distinguished by the perfection of promising constructions. When working on landscapes, the artist often used the camera-obscura-famous work on working on theatrical scenery (light chamber)
