In the 1930s, an unknown veteran of World War I decides to fly from England to the Himalayas, crash-land on the lower slopes of Everest, and become the first person to reach the summit - all alone. This man couldn't fly, knew nothing about the Himalayas, and had no experience in mountaineering. But he had a strong desire to achieve his goal. In 1933, he takes off from London in a biplane, heading towards the highest mountain on Earth. Due to government opposition, the journey stretches out for almost a year.
