A collective monograph, prepared by the employees of the Institute of the United States and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is devoted to the latest trends and contradictions in the development of the largest economy of the world - the US economy. Particular attention in the work is paid to the state and prospects of the American economy after the destructive financial crisis of 2008-2009. The monograph, consisting of seven sections, discusses the features of the post-crisis development of the economy after the 2016 presidential election, analyzes in detail the state and trends of the financial market and the budget, the state and prospects of the development of the social sphere, the role and place in the economic development of the scientific and technical potential, the US position on the US position on world financial markets. Special attention is paid to the state of the country"s agricultural sector, as well as the state and prospects of the energy sector and the US energy strategy
