In the work of Professor Alessandro Roncali, a history of economic thought is presented: from her background, dating back to the sources of classical antiquity and biblical texts, to the present. In this accessible language, based on many sources and a carefully verified book of the chapter, dedicated to the contribution of famous authors - William Petty, Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Karl Marx, William Stanley Jevons, Karl Mengers, Leon Valras, Alfred Marshall, John Meinard Caines, John Meinard Kaines, Joseph Shumpeter and Pierrot Sruffs, alternate with chapters dedicated to significant schools, directions and debate of various eras. The process of development of economic thought is considered in the context of the confrontation of two poles: subjective, based on the concepts of rarity and usefulness, and objective, based on the concepts of physical costs and surplus. Professor Ronkalya draws attention to the differences in understanding the economy and society, to the evolution of views over time and criticize the founding of a subjective approach in contrast with classical and Keynesian.
