This publication presents two works by V.A. MAU, dedicated to economic policy and the role of state regulation in Russia and the USSR from the middle of the XIX to the middle of the 20th century - from the reforms of Alexander II to the reform A.N. Kosygin. In the work "reform and dogma. The state and economics in the era of reforms and revolutions (1861-1929) are considering the history of the economy and economic policy of Russia and the USSR in the first third of the 20th century. The integrity of this period is shown, including the continuity of economic decisions that successively replaced each other in the governments of Russia (tsarist, temporary, Bolshevik) The search is analyzed by various governments of measures to withdraw the country from the socio-economic crisis or the acceleration of economic growth.
Work "in search of systematic: Economic discussions of the 1930-1960s" is devoted to one of the most dramatic periods in the history of Soviet economic thought. It examines a deep crisis that has embraced science in the conditions of the formation of an administrative system and repressions against prominent scientists-economists, as well as the first attempts to get out of this crisis associated with the theoretical preparation of the 1965 economic reform in the USSR. Analyzing the theory of planned management, the author reveals the internal logic of the development of science, the contradictions and high -quality jumps inherent in it, the relationship of political economic views and concepts of the economic mechanism
