The monograph explores theoretical and practical problems of the formation of a system of protection against unemployment in new Russia. Unemployment protection models are characterized, formed in developed countries over the past century, as well as the advantages and numerous contradictions that arise in connection with the mechanical imposition of Western experience on Russian reality. The development of basic labor market institutions at various stages of market transformations in Russia is analyzed, methodological and practical recommendations for the reform of the system as a whole, one of the key mechanisms of which is unemployment insurance.
