The textbook was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education of the third generation. In the context of the professionalization of political activity, the need to put it on a good analytical basis, as well as the training of specialists-consultants of the corresponding profile, increases. These specialists should be focused on applied work for political counseling (consulting) The training of such specialists can be conducted through various disciplines: legal, sociological, psychological, political science, etc. In the proposed textbook, the main attention is paid to the sociological component of political counseling. The subject of consideration is the following topics: the meaning of sociology for political consulting, the main directions of political consulting, taking into account the characteristics of the political situation, political counseling in the decision -making process. Particular attention is paid to the role of a person in political processes and decision -making. This is the first publication in our country in this area of professional training.
