The book is a collection of works of the professor, the head of the Russian Economic Society. S.F. Sharapova Valentina Katasonov, written by him in different years. The author makes an attempt to move away from the usual stereotypes of the explanation and description of the economy (under construction and rationalism under construction, their varieties as Marxism and liberalism) For many years, the author has comprehended the economy as the most important part of human life and society from the standpoint of the Christian (Orthodox) worldview. The results of this understanding are presented in this book.
The image of the economy appears before us - not only and not so much as the sphere of material life, but as the sphere of life of spiritual and even religious. The book contains works of various genres: interpretations of biblical plots, essays on Russian economic thought of pre -revolutionary time, journalistic thoughts about the economy of Russia and the world of our time, comments on documents, theological and philosophical essays on the spiritual nature of the economy. The main principle of the author is “not to invent a bicycle”, but as accurately as possible, in an accessible form to convey to the reader the thoughts of holy fathers, Russian thinkers, domestic pre -revolutionary entrepreneurs on economics. At the same time, the author is not limited to a look into the past, he helps the reader understand the realities of the modern economic world from the standpoint of Orthodoxy
