The textbook presents the evolution of economic growth models from the middle of the XX century. Until the first decade of the XXI century. The authors pay great attention to explaining how different theories of economic growth give answers to the following questions: why are some countries richer than others? What are the sources of economic growth? Why the rates of economic growth have increased significantly from the middle of the XIX century. and differ between countries? Why in some periods the growth rate is higher than in others? Historical examples are given confirming the conclusions of the considered models of economic growth.
