As the most successful technological companies - Amazon, Google, Facebook, Netflix, Tesla - manages to create products that are admired by billions of people around the world? In this book, a well-known specialist in managing high-tech products, Marty Kagan conducts a full-scale master class on how to organize products management, how to create high-tech products that customers will love.
Having studied chapters on the creation of an effective team, the methodology of breakthrough products, the introduction of a strong culture of products management, you can immediately apply this knowledge in your company.
The first edition of this book, published ten years ago, has become a popular reference book with technological products, it can be found in almost every successful company from the sphere of high technology. The second, completely updated edition is designed to become a valuable source of knowledge for managers in high -tech products.
From the author
I wrote the first edition when the methodology of flexible development of AGILE products has not yet entered the practice of grocery companies firmly and reliably, as now, and the concept of the "development of the client" (Customer Development) and the “Lean Startup” (Lean Startup) were not Still popular. Today, most teams have been using them for several years and are more interested in the Lean and Agile approaching approach, which I focused on this edition.
I have retained the main structure of the book, but the methods that are described here have developed and improved significantly over the past decade.
In addition to changes in the approach to explaining the ones and the description of the methods in this book there is another serious change - this time I tell in the smallest detail about what I called the scaling of the product.
In this edition, I decided to focus on the work of these managers. If you work as a product manager in a technological company or only dream of becoming one of them, I really hope that this book will be a useful practical resource for you.
The work of the manager for high -tech products today is considered one of the most desirable in our industry, and also this is the main testing ground and the main source of startup managers. So, if you have a desire to succeed in this field, and you are ready to make the necessary efforts, I will be happy to help you do it.
