The proposed book is a wide panorama of the world history of gold in the XIX-XXI centuries. The central part of this story is the era of the gold standard, when the monetary systems of the leading countries of the world were tied to "yellow metal". The author shows that the creation of such systems was dictated not by economic needs, but by the interests of those who have in their hands the main part of the world"s reserves of "yellow metal" - "owners of gold". At the end of the XIX century. The network of "owners of gold" turned out to be covered in Russia, where a gold ruble appeared as a result of the monetary reform of S. Witte. The reader finds out what role the “gold masters” played in Russian revolutions, as well as in the preparation and unleashing of world wars.
Although the gold standard was abolished in the 70s of the last century, the yellow metal continues to be the subject of increased interest for leading countries of the world and the world financial oligarchy.
