The book is devoted to the urgent problem of managing the national economy and economic activities of enterprises in the conditions of the emerging information society in modern Russia. The scientific foundations and practical aspects of the management of modern economics are considered. The evolution of the theory of economic management theory, modern management philosophy, scientific management schools, the concept of a mechanism for managing the economy were studied in the author’s interpretation. The content of the main elements of the economy management mechanism, including functions, principles, methods and tools, organizational structure and personnel, is disclosed. Brief assessments of the contribution to the theory and practice of managing 20 outstanding historical personalities are given. Recommendations are proposed to transition of the Russian economy to effective development based on the “model of a controlled economy”, taking into account world experience and especially China"s experience.
