Forecasting Early Trends in the Development of the World Economy: a textbook

The training manual discusses patterns that determine the long trends of the dynamics of the world economy. Among them: the impact of scientific and technological progress on demographic processes and the formation of long waves of economic situation, as well as the conditions that determine the pace of catching up, and the prerequisites for the formation and overcoming of structural crises. Methods of predicting long -term trends in the development of the world economy are proposed. On their basis, assessments of the possible growth of the world economy and changes in its geographical structure to periods until 2025 and until 2050 were obtained by a comparative analysis of forecasts for the indicated perspective performed by a number of large foreign research centers. The need for long-term forecasting for the development of an economic strategy, as well as the advantage of market stimulating methods of influencing business entities compared to administrative-commanding, is justified.
