In his work, representing a significant contribution to the study of education policy, Daniel Kekka analyzes the economic prospects for changing the demand for education and its proposals. He explores the reasons why, after reaching a certain level of investment in education, they do not contribute to a reduction in social inequality. Kekki conducts a thorough review of work in the field of the formation of human and social capital starting with the fundamental work of Gary Becker. Its conclusions are based on the analysis of specific data on the transfer of income between generations and education on the example of the United States, Germany and Italy, as well as the analysis of aggregated income data and inequality in the formation of a much wider circle of countries. Kekki explores the question of whether state funds spent on education really effectively increase the level of knowledge of students, and also consider alternative methods for financing this sector.
