The textbook in an accessible form presents and discusses the development of economics and the management of the material and technical resources of railway transport in the new economic conditions. For the first time in domestic literature, a theoretical attempt was made by a comprehensive consideration of increasing the efficiency of activity and satisfying the needs in the material resources of structural units, subsidiaries and dependent societies and branches of the Russian Railways. Based on the results of theoretical studies of the innovative and production potentials of the railway supply system, the main directions and methods of transformations of the restructuring process as part of corporate changes in Russian Railways, the positioned values of the material and technical support system, an integrated approach to the development of systems of balanced supply indicators and operational maneuvering material resources. Recommendations for the implementation of the developed algorithms and models are long-term and are based on the concept of logistics management of the improvement of business processes of the material and technical support system.
