Doctor Gaaz and the Christian book

The monograph is dedicated to the book publishing initiatives of the Moscow Philanthrope Medica Friedrich Joseph (Fedor Petrovich) Gaaz (1780–1853) The book publishing of Dr. Haaz was aimed at implementing the main task of prison charity-the education and socialization of prisoners, a physician-philo-psycho taught prisoners, conveyed to them the Christian faith.
Doctor of Historical Sciences I.V. Semenenko-Basin in this book introduces into scientific circulation and analyzes documents from fifteen archival funds stored in eight different Russian archives. In addition to clarifying all the circumstances of the book publishing projects of Dr. Gaaz, the monograph is characterized by the personality of the Haaz, his social activity, and the individual facts of his biography are clarified. The application publishes the Latin -speaking letter of Gaaz to the church censor, Archpriest Feodor Golubinsky (1839)
