The book about the future, in which the national boundaries will play less and less, and the communications of all types connecting huge megacities are increasingly.
For many years there was an opinion: "Geography is a sentence." The global revolution of communications in all its forms - transport, energy and communications - made it possible to make a quantum leap in the mobility of people, goods, resources, and knowledge, which fundamentally changed the situation. Geography can no longer be considered an obstacle. The author of this book introduces a new term "Connectography", in which it combines two forms of separation of the world into components. Connectography reflects a huge breakthrough in the mobility of people, resources and ideas as the evolution of the world from political geography - how the world is officially divided - to functional geography, that is, how people actually use the world, from nations and borders to infrastructure and logistics chains.
The modern world system is developing from vertically integrated empires of the 19th century through the horizontally interdependent countries of the 20th century to the global network of civilizations of the 21st century. The relationship, not sovereignty, becomes the organizational principle of mankind.
This ripening global network of civilizations in the future can reduce environmental pollution, inequality and even overcome geopolitical rivalry. The new motto of the future should be the words: "Nutility is fate."
