Alexander Moiseevich Pyatigorsk (1929–2009) - an outstanding thinker, orientalist, writer, author of philosophical and budological monographs, novels, as well as numerous philosophical works and essays. This book was written by Alexander Pyatigorsk in English (“The Buddhist Philosophy of Thumbht”, 1984) and thus is first published in Russian. In this deep and meaningful study devoted to the theory of Dharma in Buddhism, the author uses methods derived from phenomenological analysis and semiotics. At the same time, freedom of thinking from the so -called psychologism, which brings to the philosophy of Buddhism, is fundamentally important, alien and not suitable for it. Many provisions put forward in this study turned out to be innovative for their time and have not yet lost their relevance. A vivid style of presentation, accuracy and depth of analysis in the absence of any dogmatism and categorical of judgments make the book interesting for both humanitarian specialists and a wide range of readers
