All -Russian archaeological scientific journal. The purpose of the magazine is to introduce into the scientific circulation of the results of professional research in the field of archeology, the formation of modern concepts on the problems of archaeological science.
The tasks of the magazine - the publication of the most important achievements of field archaeological research of recent times, the consideration of a wide range of problems of primitive, classical and medieval archeology (including foreign), and the use of natural science methods in archeology. The CSIA editorial board is constantly working on an increase in the scientific level of published materials, the expansion of chronological and territorial coverage of publications in order to offer the reader a new subject information about the achievements of domestic archaeological science, presenting them against a wide background of the development of modern trends in the field of historical research
