Archimandrite Pavel Prussky (in the world Petr Ivanovich Lednev, 1821-1895) is considered one of the greatest missionaries in the Old Believer schism, to the study of which many of his works are dedicated. He served in the Russian Orthodox Church and was the abbot of the Moscow Nikolsky Old Believer Monastery. In the "Brief Information on the Existing Sects in the Schism," the author discusses the prerequisites for the schism, its initial teachings, and its division into separate sects, each of which is analyzed in detail. The book also includes a "Brief Guide to Understanding the Righteousness of the Holy Church and the Wrongness of the Schism," in which the author, through a dialogue between an Old Believer and an Orthodox believer, engages the reader, "busy with necessary worldly affairs," in the question of the harmfulness of the schism and proves the "truth of the Orthodox Church." The works are published based on the editions: "Brief Information on the Existing Sects in the Schism, on their Origin, Teachings, and Rites, with Brief Remarks on Each" (Moscow: E. Lissner and D. Sobko Printing House, 1905 - 84 p.), "Brief Guide to Understanding the Righteousness of the Holy Church and the Wrongness of the Schism, Presented in Conversations between an Old Believer and an Orthodox Believer" (Moscow: Publishing House of the Brotherhood of St. Peter the Metropolitan, 1907 - 88 p.).
