Truman Kapote, the author of such bestsellers as “cold -blooded murder”, “summer cruise”, “other voices, other rooms” and “music for chameleons”, is one of the largest American prose writers of the twentieth century.
The reader’s attention is offered two of his classic novels: the lyrical “voices of the grass” published in the new translation, as well as the most famous work of Kapota, glorified in 1961 by an adaptation with Audrey Hepburn in the main role, playing the main character of the story of Holly Golitley, one Of the most striking and unusual women of American literature. The eccentric, full of life of Holly entails the world of rich people, sparkling with the bright lights of diamond necklaces. Guided in her actions only by the voice of the heart, combining children"s naivety with the enchanting charm of a real woman, she, as it were, embodies the essence of New York-a city in which dreams lie at the distance of an outstretched arm, fenced off by shiny glass of the filing views of the windows
