The book included the story "Morozov’s boyar" of the famous author of the historical and adventure novels Dmitry Dmitriev and the work of the no less interesting writer Georgy Seversv of the same name. And if Dmitriev’s work fascinates with artistic fiction on factual material, a variety of paintings from the life of historical personalities, in which there is a place for a romantic line, insidiousness, treason, adventure, then Severtsev’s book is much closer to historical realities.
both novels were published at the beginning of the twentieth century.
In the novel by Severtsev Morozov, it is represented by the victim of the intrigues of Protopop Avvakum and the old Melanie, who, in turn, are shown by religious adventurers. Thus, the author expressed a certain view characteristic of part of the clergy at the beginning of the 20th century, disagreeing with the policy of liberalization in relation to the schismatics conducted by the king and the government
