Ray Bradbury's novel "Masks" was nominated for a Guggenheim Fellowship in October 1949. The book contains drawings, documents, letters from Ray Bradbury himself. The theme of masks will find its development in "The Martian Chronicles," a recognized masterpiece by Bradbury in 1950. Researchers of Ray Bradbury's work, Donn Albright and Jonathan Eller, have arranged the found eighty pages of this unpublished novel in a logical sequence in this edition. The first pages make up a condensed version of the unfinished novel. The rest are excerpts of ideas that Ray Bradbury played with. We see a twenty-five-year-old Bradbury before us. This is the time when he met his future wife, Marguerite McClure, and began corresponding with Don Congdon, a young editor. After the wedding, Bradbury and Maggie Congdon became Bradbury's agents. Both relationships lasted a lifetime.
