The book is devoted to the history of the creation and development of the Moscow Physico-Technical Institute (MIPT) - legendary fiztech. This was a university of a new type, quickly became the necessary element of the state system of training scientific and engineering personnel to work in the research institutes of the USSR Academy of Sciences and technically advanced industries. The whole scientific work of students and graduates of Fiztech, ultimately, was the work in the interests of the country"s defense. Such was the categorical imperative of the time. The successful experience of the Moscow Fiztech for the preparation of the scientific personnel of the highest qualifications to saturate new directions of science and technology can be interesting and now, when the country, and its surroundings have become completely different, but its national interests are essentially the same
