The author of the book for many years was associated with Japan, in which she worked about ten years as an APN correspondent. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies, but practically all his life was engaged in international journalism. The author visited in different countries of the world on five continents, including in little studied states of Oceania. By the nature of his work, he happened to meet with very many well-known figures, both in the USSR and abroad - politicians, diplomats, military, athletes, scientists and cosmonauts. Undoubted interest may cause his memories of the work of Soviet missions in Japan and New Zealand. The historical background of this book is the stormy and dramatic life of the Soviet people, since the 30s of the last century, up to the birth of a new state - Democratic Russia. For the first time, some facts are opened in the book that many years have been carefully hidden by the Soviet censorship
