In 2003, the Great City on the Neva St. Petersburg will be 300 years old. As you know, the city spread out on many islands, the largest of which is called Vasilyevsky. According to one of the versions, he received his name named "Petrot"s nest chick, the faithful associate of the Tsar reformer Vasily Dmitrievich Korchmin. Military historians rightly refer to his outstanding artillery commander, the designer of new artsystem and a wonderful military engineer of the XVIII century. He distinguished itself in many battles of the Northern War 1700-1721, when Russia struggled with Sweden for entering the Baltic Sea, for a number of years he was the vice-commander of the Bombarer company, at the head of which Petr I was standing.
