"Bodyguard for the President" is a modern detective story, the main character of which is a simple operative from one of the police departments in Vologda, professionally skilled in martial arts. It is not so much the incredible situations, often involving life-threatening risks, from which the operative always emerged with honor, but rather his unwavering desire to selflessly help others, that show a new hero has emerged today - a young man from Vologda, kind and conscientious, capable of standing up for our protection in a worthy and fearless manner. The book also includes the stories "Vologda Convoy" and "Kurdyug", which tell about the lives of employees and inmates of a high-security colony in the village of Kurdyug in the Vologda region - not far from the places where Vasily Shukshin filmed his famous "The Red Snowball Tree". The story "Vologda Convoy" was awarded the State Prize of the Vologda Region and the literary prize of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
