Seven stories about the students of an ordinary Russian school - immigrants from Yemen, Afghanistan, South Sudan, TsAS, Palestine, Syria and DRC - are based on real events and tell what difficulties are forced to overcome by refugee children and their families. Language barrier and cultural differences, lack of legal status and support from the state, poverty, social isolation and bullying are only part of the problems that have forced migrants face.
Graphic stories collected by writer Alexei Oleinikov and made by students of the Higher School of Economics are supplemented by world statistics and brief certificates about the countries of the outcome and the causes of forced migration. The book also has a memo on how to help people who have appeared in such a situation.
The book was published together with the UN Agency for Refugees with the support of the Museum of Modern Art "Garage".
