International Master Tibor Karaii and Master Fide Tigran Gozalyan prepared capital work (in two volumes), dedicated to the life and work of the 9th world champion of chess Tigran Petrosyan. Tom I (1942-1962) tells about the children"s years of Petrosyan, starting from the war years, successes in the championships of Georgia and Armenia, about turning it into a world-class chess player (USSR champion, Olympic gold) The final year is a victory at the famous tournament of applicants for Curasao -1962.
The authors involved modern computers subjected the 148 full parties and fragments in a deep analysis, gave characteristics to almost all the famous parties of Petrosyan during this period against the background of the tours in each tournament and the match. Very few of the parties cited were studied in detail earlier, but even then a substantially improved analysis is given in the book.
Among the opponents of Petrosyan in volume I are the world champions and applicants Fisher, Tal, Spassky, Botvinnik, meanings, Ave, Korchny and Bronstein, as well as Keres, Geller, Benko, Polugaevsky, Resashesky, Taimanov, Kotov, Gligorich and others . Particular attention is paid to his coaches - Ebrilidze, Liliental and Boleslavsky.
Rare photos are given from private collections of chess players in Georgia and Armenia, many of which have not been previously published.
The author of the preface is one of the strongest chess players in Armenia Devon Aronyan.
