The book of a brilliant Cuban, the third world champion of chess, Kh.R. Kapablanki is rightfully considered one of the best textbooks for beginners. This publication is also unique in that the sixth world champion M. Botvinnik wrote a detailed preface to him and subjected the entire text of the book to special editing. Capablanca addressed his wonderful book to beginners and little -shone in chess readers, but some of his thoughts and considerations will be useful even to highly qualified chess players
