The great Russian chess player, founder of the Russian chess school, Mikhail Ivanovich Chigorin for several years, published magnificent magazines “Chess Leaf” (1876-1881) and “Chess Herald” (1885-1887) He was the main one there, and sometimes the only author. It is unnecessary to say that these brightest examples of Russian chess thought have long been almost inaccessible to the modern reader. Thanks to this work, it becomes possible to get acquainted with our priceless chess, historical and literary heritage.
