"Bluda and MUDO" is a modern rogue novel. In the provincial town of Kovyazin, young educators from MUDO, a former Pioneer House, save their institution from closure by staging a scam: they pretend that their country summer camp is full of schoolchildren on vacation.
The main character, philosopher and bon vivant Boris Morzhov, travels to his former lovers who are teachers, like Chichikov visiting the estates of landowners, and "chichits" certificates - "dead souls" of non-existent camp residents. The novel also features prostitutes, corrupt cops, corrupt officials, village drunks, and many other colorful characters. But the cheerful novel formulates a very serious question: what is better - to be successful or to be authentic?
The design of the series is an art project in which all the novels by Alexey Ivanov are designed by artists working in very different styles - as different as the novels themselves.
