The book describes the American path of blood from the donor's vein to the recipient's vein. Local regulations and good manufacturing practices of blood transfusion stations are presented. Special attention is paid to issues of immunohematology and ensuring the safety of hemocomponent therapy. Differences in the regulation of blood services in Russia and the USA are noted. The publication will be useful for students of the transfusion medicine department and blood transfusion issues at the Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians of the N.I. Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center, as well as for laboratory diagnostics specialists undergoing retraining and other medical professionals who wish to gain knowledge about blood transfusion practice.
